Parents of magnet students are invited to a special meeting and open house on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 6:00.
The Morningside High School Magnet Construction Academy will allow students an opportunity
to look into the construction world and all of its fields through a hands-on rigorous curriculum that
prepares students to enter the world of work and upon graduation, participate in apprenticeships or
continue studies in college.
The Morningside High School Health, Science, and Math Magnet Program is designed to provide
students with an advanced education that includes training and skill development in the areas
of health, science, and mathematics. Students enrolled in the program will be motivated, enthusiastic
learners who actively engage in scientific inquiry as a way to develop conceptual learning and
problem-solving techniques.
The Health, Science and Math Magnet Program is designed to provide district students with advanced skill development in the areas of health, science and mathematics.
The program offers two options that students can select from which include a Health/Science curriculum or a Math/Science curriculum.
In addition to elective courses related to their magnet field, Honors and Advanced Placement courses will be offered to all grade levels for students who qualify. Graduates who successfully complete the program will more than meet the requirements for both the University of California and California State University systems.
