4th grade California Standards Test in Writing

Hello Kelso 4th grade parents and guardians.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2012, our fantastic fourth graders will participate in the California Standards Test in Writing.   Please make sure your fourth grader arrives to school on time prepared to take this very important assessment.  A few things you can do to assist your child to prepare for this test are:

making sure your child gets adequate rest, a nourishing  breakfast, complete all homework assignments, and arrives at school on time in uniform.  We know our children will do their very best!  Next Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at 1:30p.m. in the cafeteria there will be a 4th grade parent meeting to discuss strategies for the writing test.  Thank you again for your support.

California Distinguished School Visitation on March 14, 2012

We are pleased to inform all Kelso parents, guardians, and community members that Kelso Elementary School will participate in the second phase of the California Distinguished School Award on March 14, 2012.  The California Department of Education’s team will visit our school to verify our Best Practices and our phenomenal curriculum.  Kelso Elementary School has been able to maintain this outstanding award for over fifteen years. If awarded again for 2012, Kelso will have accomplished maintaining this honor for two decades.  Please make sure your child is prepared for this very important visit. You can assist by making sure your child arrives to school on time in uniform.  Please remind your child that this very important visit will help showcase the wonderful things that occur everyday at our school.
