Major Achievements
• In 2007-2008, our Academic Performance Index (API) rose thirty six points.
• A High Priority Planning Grant allowed us to plan for future improvements in intervention, teacher training, and technology updates.
• Our After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) provided music, self defense, art, sewing, ballet, yoga, homework help, and flight simulation.
• Our middle school students participated in Project Peace, a program on tolerance. At the end of the program where they saw exhibits and participated in workshops.
Focus for Improvement
• Increase student benchmark performance in all subject areas.
• Increase parent involvement and training.
• Improve the use of technology by staff and students.
• Continue teacher training and monitoring daily instruction to ensure that it is based on the California
Content Standards.
• Verify that the teachers clearly indicate the objectives of the lessons and use monthly assessments to monitor
students’ progress in mastering the material.
• We will identify students who need help with subject mastery and provide additional instructions.
